| Jacksonville is divided into 6 major areas of town |
- Jacksonville's Downtown
- Arlington is bordered by the St. Johns river on
its north and west side and by Atlantic Blvd on the south. Northside
is bordered by the St. Johns River, I-10 and the Atlantic Ocean.
- Southside is bordered by the St. Johns River,
Atlantic Blvd & The Intracoastal Waterway and includes Mandarin
which is the area south of Sunbeam Rd.
- Northside is bordered by the St. Johns River,
I-10 and the Atlantic Ocean.
- Westside consists of everything west of the St.
Johns River and south of I-10.
- Beaches are everything east of the Intracoastal
Waterway.

Mass Transit There are 5 bridges over the North
flowing St. Johns River in Jacksonville. Starting from the Atlantic
Ocean and heading in a generally southerly direction the first bridge is
the Dames Point Bridge followed by the Mathews Bridge, the Isaiah D.
Hart Bridge, the Main Street Bridge, the Acosta Bridge, the Fuller
Warren Bridge (I-95) and the Buckman Bridge. Approximately 2.5 miles
from the ocean the Mayport Ferry connects the north and south ends of
State Road A1A between Mayport and Fort George Island. Jacksonville
Transportation Authority (JTA) handles the Bus service, downtown
Trolleys, Skyway and the Stadium Shuttle. Jacksonville is home to CSX
Transportation which operates from many location throughout the city
including a waterfront building downtown. Amtrak Passenger Railroad
serves Jacksonville from a Station off N. Main St. The Jacksonville
Aviation Authority oversees the commercial passenger facility at
Jacksonville International Airport. There are three other smaller
airports in Jacksonville, Craig Municipal Airport in Arlington, Herlong
Airport and Cecil Field on the Westside
