Jacksonville Adult Athletics

Basketball
The Adult Basketball program is offered each year during February, March, and April. There are Open Leagues which are open to everyone; Industrial Leagues where all players on the team are employed by the same company; and Church Leagues where all team players are members of the same church. Teams usually play two (2) games per week. Participants must be 18 years or older. Team registration is conducted in January. Games are played in school gyms throughout Duval County. Softball
The Adult Softball spring/summer program begins in late March and runs through August, concluding with Metro, Regional, and National Tournaments. Leagues are offered for Men's Open, Men's Industrial, Men's Church, Women's Open, and Co-Ed. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Each team may have one player 16-17 years of age, but that player must submit a liability waiver signed by a parent. Fall softball for adults begins in late September. Baseball
The Adult Baseball program begins in May and is played through August. Leagues offered are Open, and 30 and Over. Due to the competitiveness and nature of the game, players must be 18 years or older. For more information call 630-3578.
Table Tennis
Two table tennis championship tournaments are conducted annually. There is usually one held in the Spring and one in the Fall. Tournaments, each with100 -150 participants, are for children age 6 and over, and adults. There are different classifications according to skill level of each player. Tennis
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment has approximately 150 tennis courts throughout the Greater Jacksonville area. Three tennis facilities are supervised year round, and are located in the Southside, Westside, and the Northside. At these sites the Department offers open tennis by reservation, tennis tournaments and tennis lessons. The Department also conducts tennis camps for children 8 to 18 years of age at 3 different sites during the summer months. For more information call 399-1761.
Soccer
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment's athletic staff works very closely with numerous independent soccer associations, assisting them with game sites and practice sites. Adult soccer is played in the fall and spring in various county fields. For more information, please visit the Florida State Soccer Association website at www.fssa.org.
Officials Clinic
Clinics are conducted by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment for all city-sponsored programs. These clinics are open to all adults interested in officiating or umpiring sports such as Baseball, Softball, Football, and Basketball. For more information call 630-3578.
